Easter walking breaks in the UK for couples and families

9th March 2012 Print

A selection of UK guided walking breaks – including a great offer for families – is available this Easter courtesy of HF Holidays, the UK’s largest walking holiday organisation.

Based at the company’s UK Country Houses – all situated within prime walking areas – there’s a choice of walks each day, to suit ability, together with various entertainment in the evenings as well as an Easter Egg for each guest.

For example, kids go free (under 11s) and children aged 11-17 save 50% on the company’s four-night, guided walking break – designed especially for families – in the Southern Lake District with highlights including Beatrix Potter’s Yew Farm, exploring the Langdale Valley, the summit of Coniston Old Man and walking from Grasmere to Easedale Tarn.

Accommodation is at Monk Coniston Country House, set right on Coniston Water and enjoying superb views of the surrounding fells.  Starting 02 April, the costs are £389 per adult, with children (11 to 17 years and sharing with an adult) paying £194 each, whilst under 11s are free of charge.

Alternatively, couples can head to the Yorkshire Dales and enjoy walks in the Howgill Fells, in the Wensleydale Valley and along the Dales Way and Pennine Way with accommodation at Thorns Hall Country House, a small 16th century manor house situated just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Sedbergh.  Starting 06 April, a seven-night holiday costs £625 per person, twin-share.

All prices include full-board accommodation, the programme of organised walks and social activities, transport to and from the walks, plus the services of an HF Holidays’ walks leader.
