The cool and contemporary Ichi Sushi & Sashimi Bar, located in the heart of London’s South Bank at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London hotel, is launching sushi master classes which will take place on the first Saturday of every month from April.

With impressive views of Big Ben, the classes will give guests the opportunity to watch head chef Sadayuki Okamoto demonstrate a selection of signature sushi and sashimi dishes from the menu, such as avocado and cucumber roll, blow torch salmon roll and tuna belly roll, after which they will be invited to re-create the dishes themselves.

Guests will then sit down to enjoy their hand made rolls as well as a selection of Sashimi, Nigiri and Sushi, accompanied with a glass of sake.  Throughout the course chef Okamoto will  provide tips on how to prepare fish, what cuts to look for and other useful advice giving guests the confidence to prepare sushi at home.

With over thirty years experience, Okamoto trained in Tokyo before moving to London and establishing himself as one of the capital’s most respected Japanese chefs. Previous roles include the Upper Restaurant of The Savoy, Cocoon, The Montcalm, Kingly Club, The Ivy Club Restaurant and Buddha Bar.

Priced at £30 per person, the master class includes, a sparkling Sake aperitif and nibbles to start, chef demonstration, hands on sushi making, sit down meal with glass of Sake and 1/2 bottle of water. Service charge all inclusive. For an additional £15 guests can enjoy a further three glasses of varied Sakes to include full tasting explanations from Ichi's resident Sake 'sommelier'.

The Ichi Sushi & Sashimi Bar master classes will run the first Saturday of each month from 12-2pm with a maximum of ten people per class. To book, visit: ichisushi.co.uk.
