Last chance for first-time buyers at Walsall development
First-time buyers struggling to find an affordable move because of a decreasing number of suitable properties available are being urged to head to a popular Walsall development before it sells out.
It is estimated that nearly a quarter of househunters over the next 12 months will be first-time buyers, and a third of people taking their first step onto the property ladder are concerned that they won’t be able to find an appropriate property.
Local housebuilder Morris is urging first-time buyers to head to its Norton Gate development on Lichfield Road, where huge interest means just one three-bed property is available with the Government-led FirstBuy scheme.
With the FirstBuy scheme new buyers are able to purchase a house at Norton Gate for 80 per cent of its market value, allowing them to benefit from a lower deposit requirement and smaller monthly mortgage repayments.
Cindy Vials, regional sales director at Morris, said: “Our new build properties at Norton Gate are fantastic for first-time buyers because, unlike with second-hand homes, they have no renovation costs.
“There are only two properties remaining at Norton Gate, one of which is available using the FirstBuy scheme. This is a cost-effective method for young professionals and families that enables them to own their first home without having to worry about saving for a large deposit.
“Norton Gate is within walking distance of Brownhills town centre, providing great access to shops and local amenities, and is only a 10 minute commute to Walsall.”
There is just one three-bed property at Norton Gate with the FirstBuy scheme, which is available at £132,750, and a four-bed home available at £219,750.
