Potential buyers are being invited to take a closer look at Taylor Wimpey’s popular Upper Haugh development The Wickets. The housebuilder is helping first time buyers get on the property ladder by offering the Government’s FirstBuy scheme on a selection of homes.

Situated next to Upper Haugh Cricket Club, The Wickets has the stunning Ripley and Ashford style homes available with the Firstbuy scheme. These elegantly dressed three bedroom mews properties are available with prices starting from £107,996 – both styles properties have two allocated spaces for parking.

The Ripley mews comprises of three spacious bedrooms, a family bathroom, a separate kitchen, lounge with dining area and featuring French doors that open onto a private garden and a downstairs cloakroom.

The Ashford mews comprises of three spacious bedrooms including a master bedroom with en-suite facilities, a family bathroom, a separate kitchen, lounge with dining area and featuring French doors that open onto a private garden and a downstairs cloakroom.

FirstBuy works through a joint loan of 20% from the Government and Taylor Wimpey, which means that eligible purchasers only need put down a 5% deposit and obtain a 75% loan-to-value mortgage. The loan is repayable at the end of the 25 year mortgage term or when the property is sold. To be eligible, purchasers must be first time buyers and the total household earning should be less than £60,000.

Anne Bagshaw, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, comments: “FirstBuy enables us to work closely with the Government to help more people in the region buy their first home.

“An increase in the number of first time buyers entering the market is also good news for those further up the chain. We believe that this scheme will make all the difference to those who can afford the monthly repayments on a mortgage but not the hefty deposit.

“With only 80 per cent of the property’s value to finance, buyers will have access to a wider choice of mortgage products and more competitive interest rates.”

Located on Wentworth Road, the charming, semi-rural development will showcase a huge selection of homes, offering flexible living accommodation to suit a wide range of buyers.

The 279 properties are surrounded by lush, green countryside, including the picturesque cricket club that lends the development its name.

For further information about this new development or to register your interest, visit the development on Wentworth Road, Upper Haugh, Rotherham, S62 7SL. The development is open seven days a week, 11am until 5pm.
