Celebrating art in all its forms, the Reykjavik Arts Festival takes place from 18 May - 3 June this year.

Flights with the festival's main airline sponsor, Iceland Express, cost from just £89 one-way including all taxes, a bag in the hold and cabin luggage, so getting your art-fix needn't break the bank.

Concert hall Harpa will house festival highlight, Arcadi Volodos on 20 May, one of the world's most outstanding pianists. Other international names include the French multi-instrumentalist Yann Tiersen, mesmerising Spanish singer Buika and British conductor Richard Egarr.

There will be large-scale visual art installations directed by Swedish curator and theorist Jonatan Habib Engqvist across museums, galleries and public spaces in Reykjavik and Icelandic writers will be opening their homes to the public for a series of intimate readings.

With six-weekly flights from London Gatwick are now bookable on icelandexpress.com. Iceland Express do not charge extra for flights booked on a debit card.

"We are extremely proud to be involved with one of Iceland's premier celebrations of art and culture," says Heimir Már Pétursson, Iceland Express' Public Relations Manager.

"The festival promises to be an extravaganza of theatre, dance, visual arts and music from around the globe, but is also an important platform for Icelandic arts and at Iceland Express we work very hard to support local artists. We hope travellers will take the opportunity to experience a cultural city break, Iceland style," he added.

The full programme of artists and acts will be announced in early April on artfest.is.

The Reykjavik Arts Festival is one of the oldest and most respected festivals in North Europe dating back to 1970.
