Continental tops the Which? Car Best Buy table

Which?, the consumer champion, has awarded Best Buy status to Continental in two popular tyre sizes for both the ContiPremiumContact 5 and ContiEcoContact 5.
 
The Which? Car Best Buy endorsements reveal the must-have tyres across various popular sizes. The awards highlight exceptional performance with an overall ranking and are seen as an important indicator for consumers looking to choose the best product available.
 
The consumer champion tested 26 tyres in two sizes, including 12 different brands in size 165/70 R14T and 14 in 205/55 R16V, adding; “Continental has been very successful with its two new tyres, topping the table in both our test sizes.”
 
Taking top honours following its recent launch, the ContiPremiumContact 5 has been awarded best buy status for one of the most popular sizes in the market, the 205/55 R16W commonly fitted to medium cars such as the BMW 1 Series, Ford Focus and VW Passat. The ContiPremiumContact 5 beat off competition to take top spot with an overall rating of 70%.
 
Safety at the highest possible level is one thing all Continental tyres have in common and this is where  the ContiPremiumContact 5 excels. Greater contact with the road under braking is achieved thanks to the 3D edges and Which? commented; “This Continental offers fantastic dry grip and handling and very good wet braking.” This tyre will be widely available in the UK during May 2012 and prices will be competitive with other premium brands.
 
Continental has also taken top spot with the ContiEcoContact 5 in tyre size 165/70 R14T, popular on models such as the Citroen C3 and VW Polo. Which? awarded Best Buy status to the Continental in this size with an overall rating of 72%, adding; “This class-leading tyre only recently launched in the UK, but came top in our wear and fuel consumption tests. It gives top dry braking performance and is the quietest tyre on test.”
