26th April 2012 Print

The western shores of Lake Garda, home to Lefay Resort & Spa, plays host to two important music festivals in the coming months. The Vittoriale Festival and the Opera Festival at the Arena di Verona take place between June and September this year and will see international stars from the worlds of opera, classical and rock music taking to the stage.

During July and August, the New York City Ballet Company, Patti Smith and the Buena Vista Social Club will be among artists performing at the Vittoriale Festival which will take place close to Lefay Resort & Spa. The festival, which will include cabaret, classical music, operetta and drama performances, will be held in an open air theatre overlooking the countryside around Lake Garda.

Guests booking three weeks in advance can save up to 20% when staying at Lefay Resort & Spa during the season of music. An overnight stay with breakfast costs from £94 per person. It includes entry to the resort's extensive spa facilities including five different types of sauna, a state-of-the-art gym and outdoor and indoor swimming pools and spectacular views overlooking Lake Garda.

Now in its 90th year, the Opera Festival at the Arena di Verona will be staging six operas between 22nd June and 2nd September. During the festival, Don Giovanni, Aida, Carmen, Romeo and Juliet, Turandot and Tosca will be performed in the Arena di Verona, a Roman amphitheatre built in AD30. The Arena is internationally renowned for staging large scale opera performances and has attracted some of the world's biggest opera singers including Maria Calla and Giuseppe di Stefano.
