The Lake of Menteith Hotel in Perthshire has unveiled its latest fishing breaks, designed to hook in those looking for a day’s angling on Scotland’s only lake.
Nestled beside the 700-acre Lake of Menteith, the hotel is offering guests the chance to fish at a spot regarded by anglers ‘in the know’ as the best location for Rainbow Trout and Brown Trout in Central Scotland.
The deals, which run Monday – Friday until the 31st October, include welcome tea or coffee, lunch in the Lake of Menteith Hotel’s waterfront restaurant and full boat day hire. Prices start from £39 per person, with a minimum of two people sharing a boat and a maximum of ten fish kept per boat.
Alternatively, those wishing to relax and spend a little more time at the tranquil Lake of Menteith can take advantage of the hotel’s overnight package, which includes one night’s B&B (two people sharing), lunch and boat hire for only £85 per person.

The Lake of Menteith is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, lying 55 ft above sea level and surrounded by woodland and hills. As well as Rainbow and Brown Trout, the lake is known to hold a large population of coarse fish, including Roach and Pike. Earliest records from the Doomsday Book report a pike of 35 lb being landed!
