Pupils at Holy Family Catholic Primary School in Warton have played an integral part in naming one of the roads at Taylor Wimpey North West’s brand new development, Meadows View, in the town after they were asked to come up with a selection of names.

Taylor Wimpey is close to starting on site construction work at the development in Warton and until recently, the roads remained nameless. Pupils at the school were invited to come up with ideas, with the winning pupil, nine year old Joe Edwards, receiving £25 of gift vouchers for his hard work.

Lynne Vogel, regional sales manager for Taylor Wimpey North West, states: “When asked by the local authority to supply ideas for the road names we thought it would be a great opportunity to get the local community involved.”

The children at Holy Family Catholic Primary School came up with a great selection of possible road names, which Taylor Wimpey forwarded to Fylde Borough Council for consideration. The Council subsequently chose Joe’s suggestion of ‘Snowdrop Grove’ with wild flowers becoming the theme for all three roads at Meadows View.

The head teacher at Holy Family Catholic Primary School, Mr Austin Manfredi, said: “It was very interesting to learn about how road names are developed so when we were approached for help in naming the ones at Meadows View, we were only too pleased to put forward our suggestions!”

Lynne adds “Our development is already attracting families and undoubtedly many of the children living at Meadows View may well become pupils at the school, so it’s been a great opportunity to work with Holy Family at this early stage of construction.”

Meadows View is an impressive new scheme which will comprise just 66 brand new properties, consisting of a range of two, three and four bedroom designs to suit all, from those looking to get onto the property ladder to growing families alike.

The development is situated in the Lancashire village of Warton, which boasts a wide array of amenities for residents’ convenience. The development is ideally located for commuters as Preston is just nine miles away, while Blackpool is just eleven miles.
