Making a move from old to new means the Whitmores can benefit from a DIY-free lifestyle and spend more time together as a family.

Spike, Juliet and daughter Darcey are enjoying living in the style and comfort of a brand new Redrow home at Wrea Green, near Preston, having relocated from Norfolk to Lancashire.

Juliet explained: “Our old home was a Georgian property and we wanted to move to a home with a sense of character. Initially we looked for an older property, but were faced with lots of building and maintenance issues and wanted to have time to spend together as a family rather than renovating our home.”

Located in a quiet village setting, near to Spike’s work at BAE Systems, and with good schools nearby for when Darcey’s older, the Arts and Crafts inspired Redrow homes at Wrea Green ticked all the right boxes for the family.

“It’s an intimate development and the homes are full of character. They have curb appeal and look very traditional. Unlike some other new builds they have a presence about them,” Juliet added.

“Internally the specification is fantastic with integrated top brand name kitchen appliances with an oven, microwave and American style fridge freezer included as standard. Our home is really well finished with lots of attention to detail, but it’s the little things like the matching chrome light switches and plug sockets that make a difference.”

With just two homes still available at Wrea Green time is of the essence for those who want to snap up one of the final properties. But as Spike and Juliet discovered, the Redrow team will ensure moving from old to new is as simple and straight forward as possible.

“Redrow were really on the ball. We had already sold our old home and didn’t have long to get everything finalised so that we could move. Once the sale was agreed they sent everything to the solicitors efficiently and the whole process went smoothly,” Juliet said.

“Nothing was too much trouble and we can’t speak highly enough of Mark the sales consultant – he’s even helped by feeding the cat when we went back to Norfolk.”

The final homes offer a choice of four and five-bedroom properties, with prices from £449,995. With part exchange available, those with an existing property to sell could make an easy move to Wrea Green.
