Taormina Arts Festival, Sicily
The Toarmina Arts Festival starts with the film festival throughout June and then moves on to music, theatre, dance and exhibitions in July and August, culminating in the Toarmina Book Festival.
Highlights this year include Sting on 13 July, Ben Harper on the 25 July and the Jazz Festival which runs from 17 - 22 July. The majority of events take place in the stunning Teatra Antico - the wonderful Greek Theatre, with breath-taking views due to the theatre's position on a rocky spur of land extending towards the sea, far below. The curving rows of seats are a wonderful place to sit and dream away an hour or two.
