29th June 2012 Print

Specialist Internet based holiday cottage agency, Cornwalls Cottages, is celebrating one of the best things that Cornwall has to offer – its beaches.

Rated among the best in the world, Cornwall’s beaches vary from wide expanses of sand to tiny secluded coves, and with over 160 beaches to explore along its 300 miles of coastline; there is something for everyone.

Here is a selection of properties that are either within a short drive or walking distance from the beach:

Merrose Barn (sleeps up to six) is located to the north of Portscatho, close to the sleepy little village of Rosevine on the Roseland Peninsula. The delightful and quiet Curgurrell Beach is just over 10 minutes walk away and there is easy access to the coast path. French windows lead out onto a south facing patio area and there is plenty of space for children to explore around the property. For those seeking some adventure, the owners provide excellent sailing & windsurfing tuition at nearby Percuil offering two for one and family discounts. A week’s stay arriving 13 July costs £559.

Church Close Cottage (sleeps six) is an enchanting escape situated in the peaceful hamlet of Cusgarne in the grounds Cusgarne House, once the home of James Watt. Close to the north and south coasts, the golden sand and superb surfing at Porthtowan is just 7 miles away and the fantastic water sports facilities around Falmouth and Mylor are just a short drive. The cottage has storage facilities for bikes, kayaks and wetsuits and it also has a games room with table tennis. A week’s stay arriving 06 July costs £719.20.

The Surf Studio (sleeps four) is located a few yards from Porthtowan beach on the north Cornwall coast. The excellent surf, a lively bar next door and plenty of storage for boards and wet suits makes it a great place for those who want a really chilled but active beach holiday in a well equipped apartment. The beach has tuition available for beginners and lifeguards are provided by the RNLI. A week’s stay arriving 14 July costs £489.
