Experience what is hip and new in the Thai capital with Amari

5th July 2012 Print

Explore Bangkok’s underbelly and discover a whole host of new and exciting attractions. First time visitors and experienced Bangkokophiles will fall in love with Thailand’s capital for the first time or all over again. From prime shopping destinations to inventive attractions and innovative new dining concepts, Bangkok is an ever evolving city always able to conjure up something new for its visitors. With six hotels across key locations in the city, Amari is the perfect base for all Bangkok adventures.

New this year is the vast and palatial, Asiatique, an impressive world of fine dining, shopping and colourful shows all under one roof. There are over 1,500 boutique stores; rummage to find hidden treasures such as clothes, accessories and textiles or the perfect souvenir to take home. Afterwards relax in one of the numerous fine dining venues and pick from delicious Thai, Japanese or Italian favourites.

Alternatively, for a one-stop shopping experience, take a trip to Mega Bangna, Asia’s newest super shopping location. Located in the Bang Na area of this city, the centre is an easy stopping off point for Suvarnabhumi International Airport- whether arriving or leaving Thailand.

Chocolate Ville is a new take on outdoor dining. Located North East of the city, this dining venue takes on a ‘chocolate box’ style of architecture, set within a small village that would look more suited in the USA, rather than Thailand. The restaurant serves a range of international and Thai dishes and visitors can walk around and explore Chocolate Ville pre or post dinner.

Bangkok suburb, Thonglor is firmly establishing itself as the place the young ‘IT’ Bangkok crowd head to. Still relatively new to international visitors, the variety of restaurants, shops and art in this area is now attracting a different audience. Not new, but still a well-kept secret is Agalico Gardens and Tearooms, a beautiful retreat and perfect spot to enjoy a slice of cake and cup of tea. Other Thonglor favourites include Fat Gutz saloon, serving fish and chips, rum and whiskey, Roof by Muse, the chilled out venue to start the night before heading on to Blue Velvet for potent drinks and funky-house in a Dracula-style castle setting.
