If you missed out on Olympics tickets, don’t miss these great events

With the Olympics currently at the forefront of most people’s minds, those who missed out on tickets may think they have missed out on all the great live sports for the summer. 20-22 July: Formula 1 Grand Prix, Germany
The annual German Grand Prix takes place at the Hockenheimring in the town of Hockenheim in Germany. One of the most anticipated international sporting events, the Grand Prix in Germany is always a sell out to crowds who travel from near and far to enjoy the race. 21-22 July: Vintage Bike Rally, Romania
Taking place in the historic town of Turda, Romania, the Eastern European Vintage Bike Rally unites bike riders from across Romania as well as welcoming visitors from all over the world. 27 July: Nuit des Rollers, France
On the last Friday of July each year, skating enthusiasts don their roller skates for Nuit des Rollers in Bordeaux, France. The organised skates leave from Place Pey Berlan at 8.30pm for a night-time race. Even if you don’t fancy taking part, this is a spectacle well worth watching! 6 August: Ribadesella Canoe Race, Spain
The thrilling annual Ribadesella canoe race follows a 20km course along the River Sella between the bridges of Arriondas and Ribadesella in Spain. There is also a land race where participants try and reach the finish line at the same time as the caoenists. Visitors can also enjoy the prize giving ceremony and street parades. 5 August: Pellestrina Regatta, Italy
One of 120 regattas during the Venetian rowing season, the Pellestrina Regatta takes place in Venice, Italy, in August. The island of Pellestrina is one of the many that dot the shallow waters of the Venetian Lagoon surrounding Venice. The Regatta coincides with the colourful festival of Madonna dell’Apparizione, so as well as the sporting event there are plenty of concerts to enjoy.
