The Nomad creates ‘Love in the Garden’ at Fulham Palace

26th July 2012 Print

Owned by the Bishops of London for over 1300 years, historical Fulham Palace has to be the most romantic place for The Nomad’s ‘Love in the Garden’ series, kicking off with a screening of the classic Casablanca on Thursday 6th September. The beautifully restored gardens of Fulham Palace are home to an ancient evergreen oak almost as old as Shakespeare himself so it’s the perfect setting for Romeo + Juliet on Thursday 13th September. The Nomad wraps up the romance trifecta with The Artist on Thursday September 20 and if you’re feeling indulgent you can book a table for two for dinner on the terrace and watch in style.

Love has ‘happened’ in Fulham Palace for centuries. If the walls could talk they would have some stories to tell! Interestingly, the gardens have a link to greatest romance story the monarchy has ever known. No one is a stranger to the love story of Victoria and Albert, the monarchs who married for love. The Archbishop lived in Fulham Palace at the time and when he saw the wedding bouquet, requested that he may take some myrtle from it to plant in the garden at the Palace. The legend goes that the myrtle remains in the East Façade facing the gardens to this day... Hopeless romantics will be in good company here!

As always with The Nomad, the film is the star and the location the highlight. Upon entering the world of The Nomad, it’s the little touches that make the night. From outstanding picture quality, to thought-provoking little touches that enhance your viewing experience, via a friendly welcome from all at Team Nomad. When you leave a Nomad event, you’ll hopefully feel all warm and fuzzy and take with you a glorious memory of seeing a wonderful film in a truly magical way.

And remember with Nomad’s dedication to provide 100% of its profit to the Sustainability Institute in South Africa (the charity fully supported by the Nomad’s big Sister, the Lexi Cinema) you can find comfort knowing that as well as having fun, you’re doing something good for your ticket.
