Chorley will be a hotbed of home buying activity this weekend when award winning housebuilder Redrow hosts simultaneous events at Buckshaw Village and Sandhurst Gardens.

Whether people are looking to move up to a larger family home or just getting their first foothold on the property ladder, this Saturday (Aug 11) could be the day they find the home of their dreams.

At The Village Green, part of the flourishing Buckshaw Village community, Redrow is unveiling a new fully furnished Kensington show home; while over at Sandhurst Gardens, off Pilling Lane, a special ‘homebuyers surgery’ will offer advice on all the different incentives designed to help get people moving.

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “When it comes to new homes in and around Chorley we’ve got it covered. From first time buyer properties and family homes within half a mile of the town centre at Sandhurst Gardens to a wide selection of homes in the new village environment of Buckshaw Village, we’ve earned a reputation for quality, choice and value.”

Opening this weekend, the new Kensington show home at The Village Green has been professionally designed, decorated and furnished to illustrate the versatility of this spacious, three-storey mews-style home.

Claire says: “The Kensington is a flexible family home with the ground floor offering the option for a study, teenage bedroom, kids’ playroom or informal family den. The show home has been styled accordingly to showcase flexible family living.”

The Kensington’s main living space can be found on the first floor and includes a bright, spacious lounge that opens up onto a small sun terrace in some cases, while the open plan kitchen dining area has French doors onto a Juliet balcony.

The master bedroom with en-suite, two further bedrooms and the family bathroom are on the second floor, while the fourth bedroom on the ground floor could be used as a study or playroom if not needed for sleeping. However, the inclusion of a shower in the downstairs cloakroom does make the ground floor ideal for a teenager or grown up child still living at home or even an elderly relative. An integral garage completes the accommodation.

Priced from £223,995 at The Village Green, the Kensington is among a selection of three and four-bedroom New Heritage Collection homes currently available from £179,995 to £321,995. Buckshaw Village offers a host of amenities, including a new primary school, community centre, shops, a pub / restaurant, sports pitches and a new railway station offering direct services to Manchester and Preston.

The Kensington house design also features at Sandhurst Gardens, where the property mix includes two-bedroom apartments for only £97,995 and two, three and four-bedroom houses from £137,995 to £261,995. A 20% equity loan through FirstBuy – interest free for five years - could bring down the initial cost of an apartment to less than £80,000.

“Our homebuyers surgery at Sandhurst Gardens is designed to explain in clear and simple terms all the different options available to purchasers and to help them understand their FirstBuy from their NewBuy or learn how part-exchange can help them trade up to a bigger, better brand new home,” Claire added. “We’ll have FirstBuy experts and mortgage specialists on site during the day to offer free, impartial advice.”
