Calling all solo travellers

22nd August 2012 Print

Specialist tour operator Voyages Jules Verne has expanded its popular No Single Supplement programme with the addition of several new itineraries. Presented in a colourful pamphlet, as well as on the company’s award-winning website, the latest selection covers departures from September 2012 to December 2013 and includes a tempting mix of short and long-haul destinations in Europe, Africa, India, the Middle East and the Far East.

One of the first UK travel companies to introduce a dedicated selection of tours for the solo traveller, Voyages Jules Verne continues to innovate in its approach to this increasingly popular type of holiday. Far from being a ‘singles club’, its No Single Supplement arrangements ensure that clients wishing to join a trip independently may do so without paying extra for their own room - whether travelling entirely alone or wishing to join groups of friends or couples for a memorable break.

No Single Supplement places are now available on selected departure dates of the following popular Voyages Jules Verne tours:

In Europe:

Music on the Danube – A mini-cruise to Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava featuring full-board accommodation on the MS Vivaldi, sightseeing and a special music programme in each city.

Danube Waltz – Cruise through Austria, Slovakia and Hungary on this seven-night, full-board cruise along one of the world’s most famous rivers.

‘Ice’ Land of the Northern Lights – Travel to the edge of the Arctic Circle and stay ‘in the middle of nowhere’ to witness the Aurora Borealis (weather permitting) as well as enjoying visits to the Blue Lagoon, South Iceland and the Golden Circle.

Discover Iceland – This ten-night tour offers intrepid travellers a closer look at Iceland’s diversity, its cultural heritage and amazing natural phenomena, as well as all the ‘must-see’ sights and the opportunity to go whale watching (additional cost).

In Africa:

Grand Tour of Tunisia – Get truly under the skin of this fascinating destination on a comprehensive, full-board fourteen-night itinerary that visits ‘Roman Africa’, the scenic North, medinas, ksour (Nomadic villages), the Sahara and Tunisia’s coastal regions.

Treasures of the Nile – An unforgettable ten-night itinerary combining a full, seven-night Nile cruise with a stay at the Pyramids. Voyages Jules Verne clients also enjoy dinner at an Egyptian home and a cocktail reception at Luxor’s Old Winter Palace hotel.

A Few Days at the Pyramids – Staying in five-star splendour at the Mövenpick Cairo Pyramids Hotel, this four-night break features three full days of sightseeing that include the treasures of Tutankhamun.

In the Middle East:

Petra Weekend Offer – Avoid the tourist crowds and enjoy unbeatable prices on a four-night sojourn that encompasses highlights of Jordan that include Petra and the Dead Sea, with the option to visit Jerash.

In India:

Sikhs & Exiles – This night-night Indian adventure takes travellers off the tourist track to the Golden Temple and volunteer kitchens of Amritsar, as well as to the former summer capitals of the British at Shimla and Dharamsala.

*According to the itinerary selected, prices include air travel and taxes, transportation, accommodation, some meals and the services of guides and local representatives. A programme of sightseeing excursions is available on most tours (additional charge may apply).

Some itineraries also include special events – exclusive to clients of Voyages Jules Verne – ranging from a late afternoon cruise on Lake Como and typical Ottoman Dinner in Turkey to a lecture on Tunisian history in Sousse, a private evening reception at Luxor Temple and a ride in a bullock cart in India.

Availability is limited on no single supplement rooms and early booking is highly recommended.
