With 70% of the homes sold, Redrow’s Sandhurst Gardens venture in Chorley has been popular with first time buyers, families and downsizers alike.

The mix of two, three and four-bedroom properties with current prices from only £97,995 to £261,995 has helped to ensure this universal appeal.

So too, the range of incentives available to help people purchase the home of their choice has contributed to the success of Sandhurst Gardens.

For those buying their first property or returning to home ownership after a change in circumstances, FirstBuy offers the chance to put off paying 20% of the purchase price. It reduces the initial cost of a two-bedroom Alton apartment to just £78,391, requiring a smaller deposit and lower monthly mortgage repayments.

The balance comes in the shape of an equity loan jointly funded by Redrow and the Government and is interest free for the first five years. The incentive is available to those with an annual household income below £60,000, but with time and funding running out those wanting to take advantage of FirstBuy should enquire at the earliest opportunity.

Higher up the housing ladder, those looking to trade up to a bigger and better new home may be able to use their existing property as part-payment for the one they want to buy. Using part-exchange means Redrow will effectively act as a cash buyer for their old home, they won’t find themselves stuck in a housing chain and they won’t have any estate agent’s fees to pay.

Third and finally, those with limited funds at their disposal for a deposit may be able to buy their brand new home with a 95% mortgage via the Government backed NewBuy initiative. Redrow is hosting a special event on site on Sunday, September 23, when would-be home owners can find out everything they need to know about owning a new home with just a 5% deposit.

Claire Jarvis, sales director at Redrow Homes (Lancashire), said: “Sandhurst Gardens may be 70% sold but the good news is there’s still plenty of variety to choose from in the homes available. We’ve got two-bedroom apartments, two and three-bedroom mews style properties, four-bedroom townhouses and three and four-bedroom detached family homes.

“The help available is varied too, although first time buyers need to act quickly to take advantage of the FirstBuy incentive before it comes to an end.”

The homes at Sandhurst Gardens are taken from Redrow’s sought-after New Heritage Collection, which combines traditional ‘Arts & Crafts’ inspired exteriors with bright, modern, family friendly interiors. Being brand new they’re easy to maintain and built to be more energy efficient than older second hand counterparts.

Close to Chorley town centre, the properties are within walking distance of a wealth of local amenities including schools and shops, while easy access to the M6 and M61, makes Sandhurst Gardens the ideal base for commuters.
