Autumn Nordic walking weekends in the unspoilt Western Algarve
The charming Quinta das Barrades plays host to a unique new series of weekend breaks catering to the popular fitness activity of Nordic Walking. Led by a fully qualified UK Nordic Walking instructor and local guide, this beautiful country house is the base for a weekend of Nordic Walking covering a variety of scenic terrains in this unspoilt region from just €510* per person inclusive.
This long weekend includes 3 nights’ accommodation, three scenic 2-3 hour guided walks covering three local Algarvian areas: countryside, coastal and cultural, transport to and from locations, breakfast and lunches either at the Quinta or packed and the experience of a five course gourmet dinner at the amazing Vivenda Miranda as well as a traditional Churrasco barbeque at the natural Quinta das Barradas. Walking poles are provided should they be required as are airport transfers.
Many additional treats are on offer at a supplement in the afternoons should walkers want to indulge in some much needed R & R! This includes a spa afternoon at the nearby luxury Cascade Wellness and Lifestyle Resort, Dolphin watching, extra walks and historical tours of Lagos to name just a few!
The autumn in the Algarve is mild and generally sunny with temperatures in the region of 22 degrees with an average of 8 hours of sunshine, perfect! With flights from many both low cost and well known airlines available to Faro from most UK airports, this is the perfect opportunity to experience a weekend of fun enjoying this wonderful activity whilst meeting new friends and enjoying a few of the luxuries of life.
This break is designed for those that are competent Nordic Walkers and have a level of experience and fitness that will enable them to walk for 2-3 hours over varying terrains that include steep gradients.
The Quinta das Barradas is located a few kilometres from the historical town of Lagos on the outskirts of Odiaxere a traditional local and natural Algarvian village. With its rustic rooms and restaurant, it is a charming working family farm country house bordered by mountains, rivers, rich flora and fauna and a natural botanic pool.
