2012 saw the 48th International Ski Congress take place in Kangwonland (Korea) which, unlike previous years, was not solely focused on the affairs of senior athletes. This year, the biannual congress featured an added focus on children, honouring the recipients of the 2nd FIS SnowKIdz Award as part of an international campaign to generate passion amongst children in snow sports entitled “Bring Children to Snow”.

The campaign was launched to address the recent decline of youth participation in snow sports. It would appear that fewer children are learning to ski or snowboard as more parents choose to hang up their ski socks after starting a family. The stress of organising a large family trip to the slopes with toddlers, teenagers and tantrums in tow simply does not appeal to many parents, particularly when juggling all of the family’s different needs leaves little time to enjoy the snow. If this sounds all too familiar, and you want to encourage your kids to ski or snowboard, but without the added stress, then why not treat the whole family to a chalet holiday with VIP SKI.

VIP SKI’s Chalet Le Manoir located in the stunning French resort Alpe d’Huez is perfect for families; it sleeps up to 12 people with a choice of twin or double rooms and is available for bookings by the room for families with children. Located in a completely unique position right on the piste the chalet offers the ultimate in ski-in ski-out convenience, overlooks the lifts and nursery slopes and is just 100m from the shops, bars and restaurants. Le Manoir boasts a wet suite with hot tub and sauna, an open fire, ski room with boot warmers, private underground parking and is fully equipped with everything to keep both adults and children entertained in the evenings. Features include; television with UK Freeview, BOSE Music system with iPod connectivity, WiFi, Blueray DVD with film/children’s library, Playstation 3 and a board games library.

VIP SKI will take care of every last detail, from VIP chalet catering and daily cleaning, to ski tuition and childcare with its fantastic flexible private nanny service. Guests will be greeted with champagne and canapés on arrival and will also benefit from wake up drinks, complimentary toiletries, daily newspapers and ski hosting throughout their stay, so that the only thing left for the parents to worry about is enjoying some of the best skiing the French Alps have to offer.
