Canon announces the launch of three new premium PIXMA printers that produce photo-lab quality prints at home and boast advanced design features, the PIXMA iP7250, PIXMA MG5450 and PIXMA MG6350.

Joining Canon’s All-in-One Photo printer range are the MG5450 and MG6350, two high-performance PIXMA devices which feature fast print speeds, the option of cost-saving high capacity XL inks, and enhanced connectivity for printing around the home. Also launching today is the new PIXMA iP7250, a document and photo printer replacing the iP4950, with faster print speeds and Wi-Fi connectivity. The iP7250 also supports tablet and smartphone printing.

Advanced design

All three new PIXMA printers have been designed with the living environment in mind. Low-profile in design and featuring two front-loading paper trays, the new printers can easily be stored and used in tight spaces, such as on shelves in rooms where space is at a premium. The two trays also make it easier to switch between printing documents and photos, by enabling two different paper sizes to be loaded simultaneously.

The ‘Snap Edge’ design on the MG5450 and MG6350 sharpens the look of the printer and allows easy access for replacing ink tanks. All three printers can be used with Canon’s high capacity XL ink tanks, which provide up to 2x more prints per tank compared to standard size ink tanks, saving both money and time by reducing the frequency at which replacements are required.

The latest PIXMA printers have been designed to be even easier to use. The MG6350, for example, features a large 8.8cm colour touch-screen display that combines with Canon’s Intelligent Touch System, which is integrated into the surface of the printer, for easy and intuitive, light-guided touch operation.

The new printers also feature Auto Power Off, an energy saving function that allows the PIXMAs to automatically switch off if left idle for a set amount of time. For added convenience, Auto Power On turns the printer on automatically when a print job is sent to it, particularly useful when printing wirelessly.

Hassle-free connectivity

Easy connectivity through Wi-Fi is a key feature of the new PIXMA printers and ensures they can be shared wirelessly by multiple PCs, tablets and smartphones in the home. The MG5450 and MG6350 also both support PIXMA Cloud Link which includes Google Cloud Print, enabling Google Docs or Gmail attachments (jpeg or PDF files) to be printed on the go from any smartphone, tablet or laptop. For even greater freedom, PIXMA Cloud Link also enables direct access to online photo albums and useful print templates, such as calendars, over the internet.

Printing direct from compatible digital cameras and digital video cameras is also possible with the new Canon PIXMA printers. Based on the PictBridge standard, cameras can be connected to the same Wi-Fi router as the printer, which enables direct photo printing without the need for a cable connection.

Creative Software

All three printers come with Canon’s latest My Image Garden software as standard, which includes access to the new-look CREATIVE PARK PREMIUM. Photos can also be printed using Canon’s new Print Your Days Facebook app, which has been designed to make it easier to enhance and print photos directly from Facebook to a Canon PIXMA printer, without the need for any additional software.
