With the chance to save thousands off the initial price of a brand new home, the extension of FirstBuy is great news for would-be home owners.

The incentive offers first time buyers the chance to reduce the cost of setting up home with the help of an equity loan for up to 20% of the price. It’s available at Sandhurst Gardens in Chorley and to explain how first time buyers can benefit, Redrow is holding a special event this Saturday (October 6).

Mortgage specialists, along with Redrow’s friendly experienced sales consultants, will be on hand to guide customers through the application process, making it as simple and straight forward as possible.

Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “We’re delighted that funding under the FirstBuy scheme has been extended as it offers a lifeline to those who are stepping on the property ladder by significantly reducing the cost of the home they’re buying.”

With an equity loan for 20% of the cost, eligible customers may only need a deposit of 4% of the purchase price and a mortgage for the remaining 76% to secure a brand new home.

Prices at Sandhurst Gardens start from as little as £97,995 for a two-bedroom apartment.

With FirstBuy a four-bedroom Kenilworth style home could be secured with a deposit of £7,040 and a mortgage for £133,756. The equity loan covers the remaining £35,199.

“It may seem complicated, but in simple terms FirstBuy could help aspiring home owners make that all-important first step onto the housing ladder as it significantly reduces the cost of the home they’re buying,” Claire adds. “Provided their total annual income is less than £60,000 they should be eligible for the valuable help and if they come along to our event they can find out all about it.”

Close to Chorley town centre, the properties are within walking distance of a wealth of local amenities including schools and shops; while easy access to the M6 and M61, makes Sandhurst Gardens the ideal base for commuters.
