YouTube announces more than 60 new original channels

9th October 2012 Print

YouTube has announced more than 60 new, original channels coming to the platform from partners in Germany, France, the UK and the US.  These new channels come from well-known producers and celebrities, as well as emerging media companies and pioneers in online videos. They cover categories like food, health/wellness, parenting, sports, music, comedy, animation and news, and are available globally on YouTube from any device.

These channels join more than 100 others that rolled out on YouTube in the US since October 2011 as part of YouTube's original channels initiative. "Some of the most successful formats on TV come from Europe," said Robert Kyncl, Global Head of Content for YouTube. "The expansion of original channels in Europe allows more content creators of all stripes, from top producers to talented up-and-comers, to build their audiences all over the world."
