Menzies Hotels, leading independent hotel chain, has launched a new concept in recognition of the importance of delivering a high quality family friendly travel experience.

Menzies Important Kids (M.I.K) has been introduced across the entire group, designed to improve travel for families with young children. Upon arrival, all children will be greeted at a dedicated check in area, complete with steps to allow smaller travellers to reach the counter. Then, after completing specially designed M.I.K registration forms, each child will receive a wrist band which entitles them to complimentary ice cream and unlimited juice and water for the duration of their stay.

Staff will also highlight child friendly attractions surrounding each location, events and activities taking place at each property, as well as pointing out the all important numbers for the kids TV channels in each room.

The family friendly theme continues with the group- wide introduction of activity table mats and crayons to keep the children entertained during meal times as well as a new ‘Young Diners’ menu, served at earlier mealtimes.

Niall Geoghegan, Chairman, Menzies Hotels commented; “This is just the start of the M.I.K. product and through feedback received from our younger traveller and their parents, we hope to develop the concept even further.”

At all Menzies Hotels, children under 16 stay free of charge when sharing with an adult and under 5’s stay and eat for free. In addition, the group offers a wide variety of fixed price three course meals for children as well as a 50 percent discount on adult portions in the main restaurants.
