La Manga Club serves up tennis fun in the winter sun
Tennis fans seeking some competitive action in warmer climes this winter can take advantage of some fantastic packages by heading for the sun to take part in the Murcia Seniors Tennis Open at Spain's La Manga Club.
The popular event will be staged at the luxury resort's 28-court tennis centre for a 10th time from December 2-8 and competition is sure to be as fierce as ever as players chase more than €8,000-worth of prizes plus, as an official International Tennis Federation seniors' tournament, valuable ranking points.
A variety of singles and doubles competitions are taking place, ranging from over-35 to over-75 categories for men and over-35 to over-65 age groups for ladies, with a selection of luxury tennis and leisure breaks and tennis equipment to be won.
Entry to the tournament costs just €40 and it is accompanied by a host of optional social events including a welcome cocktail reception for just €33 and a gala dinner and prize-giving costing €60 - the same as last year.
Accommodation is available from less than €27 (£22 approx) per person per night in the fully-serviced Las Lomas Village apartments, or just €70 in the five-star Hotel La Manga Club Principe Felipe, with the latter including breakfast.
What's more, all tournament guests will receive a 10 per cent discount on spa treatments booked before the end of November; free access to Spa La Manga Club's fitness centre, indoor pool, saunas and steam rooms; and complimentary use of the tennis courts during their stay.
Golfing partners are also welcome as La Manga Club is also hosting the 12th Murcia Golf Open from December 3-8 to run alongside the tennis event.
La Manga Club boasts unrivalled facilities as a sport and leisure venue including three 18-hole championship golf courses, a 28-court tennis centre and a 2,000sqm spa and fitness centre. It also offers the choice of a five-star hotel, four-star serviced apartments and townhouses, more than 20 bars and restaurants and is great fun for children.
