Award-winning housebuilder Morris Homes is launching the first phase of unique zero carbon properties at its landmark Peterborough development this weekend.

Morris’ flagship Vista development, which is on Cripple Sidings in the city’s South Bank area, will feature 295 energy efficient homes upon completion. The properties at the site are designed to feature a range of carbon cutting resources, including combination boilers and solar and rainwater harvesting, which will reduce long-term costs for homeowners.

The first mix of two and three-bedroom sustainable homes are now on sale. The properties, which include the stunning three-storey Ixia and the modern Lavender house, give buyers the chance to reduce their carbon footprint, and are available from £139,750.

Cindy Vials, regional sales director at Morris, said: “Vista is an innovative site setting the benchmark for future ‘green’ builds. It is the largest of its kind in the UK, and the extensive development is playing a key role in the regeneration of Peterborough’s South Bank area.

“Buyers have shown a lot of interest in the zero carbon properties because of the long-term savings the renewable resources provide on household bills. We urge househunters to head to the sales office to secure their unique energy efficient home now.”

The environmentally-friendly properties at Vista are just minutes from The Queensgate shopping centre in Peterborough city centre, and offer great links to the local transport system. Interested buyers can purchase a home at the development using the Government-led NewBuy scheme, which allows househunters to apply for a 95 per cent mortgage.

Cindy added: “Buyers at Vista are purchasing a sustainable, affordable home that is conveniently located for commuting into London in under an hour, and for easy access to a fantastic selection of shops, restaurants and bars in the heart of Peterborough.”

Morris’ Vista development is being supported by the Homes and Communities Agency and Peterborough City Council. Morris is working alongside architects Barnett North LLP and landscape architects Barnes Walker on the scheme.

Morris has a range of two and three-bedroom bedroom homes available at Vista starting from £139,750.

For more information on the schemes and properties visit the sales office at Cripple Sidings, London Road, Peterborough, PE2 8AL (open Thursday to Monday between 10.30am – 5.30pm) or visit morrisvista.co.uk.
