Jet off to some sunshine for the weekend

When the nights are drawing in and you’re counting down to next Spring, there’s no need to wait. With so many different airlines offering budget flights across Europe and beyond, you can escape the cold of winter in the UK and head off to somewhere sunny for the weekend.

True, you won’t get quite the same amount of heat as you would in early September or late spring, but many different places in Europe will enjoy many warm and sunny days throughout the winter, and just being in the sun can really lift your spirits.

Great places to go include resorts along the Mediterranean coast of Spain, Cyprus, Greece and the southern part of Italy. You can get cheap flights to Malaga, Barcelona and Alicante, and enjoy some beautiful blue skies while you walk along by the beach or take in some interesting city sights.

Other great winter destinations include Morocco and Istanbul. Of course you can decide to go for longer than a weekend if you can get the time off work, and make those bargain flights even more of a bargain.

Winter can be a great time to see some of the big cities in Europe without feeling crowded by the masses as you sometimes do in the summer months. See the Coliseum in Rome or walk across the Ponte Vecchio in Florence without the sense of being jostled every which way.
