First Tracks, Resort Opening Weekend - 1st & 2nd December 2012
On 1st December, Val d'Isère unfurls its great white carpet for over 150 days of skiing and snowboarding action. Be first to test out this season's ski and snowboard equipment on Val d'Isère's legendary slopes as the resort opens its "First Tracks" tented village featuring all the major ski brands including Dynastar, Elan, Fischer, Head, K2, Kästle, Movement, Nordica, Rossignol, Salomon, Scott, Völkl, White Doctor. Check out the virgin snow of the expansive Espace Killy ski area with an experienced guide, before discovering the vibrant après-ski to welcome the start of the new ski season in style.

57ème Critérium de la 1ère Neige - 8th to 15th December 2012
The new winter season is approaching and with it the "Critérium de la Première Neige" (Alpine Skiing World Cup). From the 7th to 15th of December, experience the excitement of the new ski season in the company of the world's best skiers. After the men's Giant Slalom and Slalom events on the mythical Face de Bellevarde on 8th and 9th December, the women will be in the limelight on 14th and 15th of December with a Downhill and Super G.
An Enchanted Christmas - 22nd to 29th December 2012

17th International Adventure and Discovery Film Festival - 22nd to 25th April 2013
The annual Festival du Film Aventure et Decouverte has been running since 1996, gradually expanding and going from strength to strength each year. Entrants are invited to submit a short documentary featuring at least one of the following themes: adventure, exploration, ethnic encounters, sport or expeditions. Once applications are submitted, eleven of the best will be shown throughout the week to be judged by a jury of well-known adventurers and by the public.
