Whether you are looking to move house or get your foot on the property ladder in Cardiff, you should consider the many benefits that leading house builder Taylor Wimpey has to offer at its Parc Llaneurwg development in St Mellons.

The stunning collection three and four bedroom homes at the development in St Mellons are being built accordance with level four of ‘The Code of Sustainable Homes’, meaning the homes are extremely energy efficient with particular benefits such as solar panels, 100% energy efficient lighting installed throughout the property, recycling bins fitted into the kitchens and eco settings fixed on all the taps.

Sara Taylor, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey South Wales comments: “We all know buying a new home can be an costly ordeal, but as our new homes have been built in accordance with level four of ‘The Code of Sustainable Homes’, you will benefit from savings on your heating and electricity bills, as well as all the extra little perks the properties come with such as a cycle storage and washing lines – all included to help you save money.”

New homes have long claimed benefits over old in terms of energy efficiency, but research carried out by Taylor Wimpey claims that buying a new home could actually help purchasers reduce their costs in the long run and make savvy savings in 2013.

According to the research, buying a new build home could save you over £1,200 a year in energy bills. Results found that fuel costs in a brand new property came to a total of £510 compared to £1,732 for a detached house built in the 1990s. CO2 emissions from the older property were also nearly four times higher than those of the new build home.

Sara adds: “A home is probably the most expensive investment you’ll ever make, and it’s important to make the right decision. Choosing a new home over a second hand property could save you thousands on DIY, maintenance and improvements, not to mention ongoing savings in areas such as fuel bills.”

Located in the leafy suburb of St Mellons, Parc Llaneurwg comprises a range of 49 beautiful three and four bedroom family homes, with prices starting from as little as £169,995 for the Denford house type.
