Perfect property for home working

Abbotts Walk, Winchester

With more people now working from home, Abbotts Walk in Winchester has plenty to offer those who want to improve their work/life balance.

A number of properties at the Redrow development have dedicated offices over the garage, enabling buyers to escape the rat race and go ‘out’ to work while staying at home.

Julie Davies, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), says: “The number of home workers has risen steadily over the last decade with reports suggesting that 5.4 million households in the UK now have at least one person working from home. With that in mind, we’ve incorporated dedicated office space into the design of some of the properties at Abbotts Walk. They’re self-contained with their own entrance and also benefit from having their own kitchenette and WC so there’ll be no need to be going back and forth between the office and the main house.

“We feel it’s the ideal working environment as it offers a degree of separation that enables mum or dad to work away from the distractions of family life while still being at home.”

Those who don’t require a home office could opt to utilise the space as a cinema room, a teenage annex, play room or guest suite.

A choice of four and five-bedroom properties at Abbotts Walk benefit from dedicated home offices. Among them is the four-bedroom Walmesley, priced from £589,950.

The main house boasts a well equipped open plan kitchen and dining room, plus a separate lounge, a family room, cloaks and utility to the ground floor.

Upstairs two of the bedrooms benefit from en-suites, with the family bathroom shared by the remaining two bedrooms.

Abbotts Walk offers a good choice of homes ranging from two-bedroom apartments to substantial family homes, with current prices from £229,950.

NewBuy is available on properties priced at up to £500,000, enabling customers to buy a brand new home with a 5% deposit and 95% mortgage.

Located in Worthy Road, in the Abbotts Barton area, the homes enjoy a leafy setting close to the River Itchen. Residents can follow a footpath from the development along the river bank into Winchester, where they’ll find the famous cathedral, a good choice of restaurants, high street shops and schools.

Closer to home there’s a village shop to cater for residents’ daily needs, as well as a pub.

Abbotts Walk is within easy reach of the A34 and M3, plus Winchester train station is just over a mile away, making the homes a good base for commuters working in London or on the South Coast.

To experience all that a brand new Redrow home has to offer, visit Abbotts Walk, where the show homes are open daily from 10am to 5.30pm.
