Pauline Ashworth, 32 years old from Wigan, recently took delivery of a very special prize that she’d won – a Hyundai Veloster 1+2 door coupe worth £18,000. The efficient 1.6-litre GDi petrol manual model emits just 148g/km CO2 and 43.5 combined mpg.

Ashworth entered the Hyundai competition on a visit to the brand’s promotional stand in Westfield Stratford City shopping centre, London, this summer.

Ashworth was delighted when she found out that she was the winner. She said: “I just couldn’t believe it when I got the first e-mail telling me I’d won. I can't get over how lucky I am to be the winner when I think of all the thousands of people that must have entered the competition. It all became a reality when the transporter arrived to deliver the car.”

Hyundai visited Ashworth this week to see how she was getting on with her new set of wheels. She commented: “The Veloster looks great! I like its curves and cutaways and the way it seems to crouch on the road ready to pounce. It’s light and really nice to drive.”

With its bold and striking looks, the Veloster seems to bringing Ashworth quite a lot of attention. She told Hyundai: “I love how it’s so new – you don’t see that many on the road yet and there are no other cars like it. I've had a few strangers admiring its looks and my family and friends adore it.

"I'm still getting used to the features of the car, but the touchscreen media centre is a favourite. To be honest, I'm really enjoying driving it and looking at it, too!”
