Wizz Air’s low fares land in Lublin

20th December 2012 Print

Wizz Air, the largest low-cost, low-fare airline in Central and Eastern Europe, has begun operating its new routes from London Luton and Oslo Torp to Lublin. The airline’s first flight from London Luton to Lublin (Flight W6 2066) landed at 12:05 local time. Wizz Air’s second flight of the day, to Oslo Torp, will operate this afternoon. In its first day operating at Lublin, Wizz Air will carry over 550 passengers.

Wizz Air’s two Lublin routes currently operate two times per week each, with extra flights during the peak Christmas travel period. In the first year of operations, these flights will carry over 50,000 passengers. Forward bookings confirm the popularity of Wizz Air among locals and visitors. The airline believes that its low fares, family friendly services and guaranteed discounts for members of the Wizz Discount Club will further boost traffic on its two Lublin routes.

Daniel de Carvalho, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air, said: „We are delighted to begin our Lublin flights to London Luton and Oslo Torp just before Christmas 2013 and in time for Lublin passengers to finish their shopping abroad or invite their families home for the holidays. We expect that Wizz Air’s low fares will place Lublin on the travel map of Europe, attracting visitors to Eastern Poland. Wizz Air stimulates air traffic with low fares and passengers can book our services from Lublin from just PLN 40 on wizzair.com.”

Grzegorz Muszynski, President of Lublin Airport, said: “The second day of operations at Lublin Airport was another example of our success. Today Wizz Air arrived at Lublin and will now take travelers to London and Oslo two times per week. I am pleased that the people of Lublin can now fly on Wizz Air’s low fares. I hope that these destinations are just the beginning of our cooperation and that we will expand the route network further in the future.”
