Noah, the son of Transformers star Megan Fox, has been hailed as the best celebrity baby name of last year. The baby boy, who was born in September, came out on top in a poll of over 2,000 women.

Hilary Duff’s son Luca came second, with Amanda Holden’s daughter Hollie making it into third place.

Former Liberty X babe Michelle Heaton came fourth with her daughter Faith.

Ex-Eastenders actress Tamsin Outhwaite and Miranda star, Tom Ellis made it into fifth place with their daughter Marnie Mae.

Lisa Penney, spokeswoman for parenting website Bounty.com who conducted the survey, said:

“Rightly or wrongly we all have opinions about the names that celebrities give their newborns.

“Our baby names database shows that some parents take inspiration from them with many celeb baby names setting future trends.

“Whilst other names simply don’t work when parents apply the shout in the supermarket test.”

The panel of new mums and pregnant women placed Pearl Osbourne, the daughter of Jack, in sixth place.

Other names which made the top 10 list of 2012 included Robbie Williams’ daughter Theodora, Kourtney Kardashian’s little girl Penelope, and Una Healy’s baby girl, who she named Aoife.

Sienna Miller’s daughter Marlowe also made the top ten.

Meanwhile, the unusual choice of Fox India, given by Robbie’s band mate Mark Owen to his daughter, was rated the worst celebrity moniker in the poll.

Billie Piper’s son, given the ‘geek-chic’ name of Eugene, was the second least popular.

In at third place was Dolly, the name that Chantelle Houghton and Alex Reid took five weeks to decide upon after she was born on Father’s Day.

The nation’s mums also agree with Bob Geldolf’s public displeasure at daughter Peaches’ decision to name her son Astala, with his name being fourth least popular.

Other names that weren’t a hit were Snooki’s son Lorenzo and Beyonce and Jay Z’s daughter Blue Ivy – despite her parents failed bid to try and trademark her name.

Stacey Solomon’s son Leighton is the tenth least popular baby name – a name which she admitted, when first suggested by her partner, made her think of Leyton in East London, just a few miles away from her hometown of Dagenham.

Lisa Penney added: “Parents do need to think very carefully about everything that comes attached to an unusual moniker as it can definitely shape a child’s experiences from how they are treated at school and beyond – which is not such a problem for celebrity children.

“That said, today’s trends change more quickly and names that seem relatively unusual and quirky can quickly become mainstream and common in the classroom.”

But it’s not all about celebrity, at the end of December, Bounty always reveals the year’s top ranking names given to over 500,000 babies born in 2012.”
