Brand new house designs from Barratt, the housebuilder of the year, are set to be launched at the developer’s Coed Celynen development in Abercarn.

The development in Abercarn is showcasing the new range which is part of a brand portfolio of designs for the company.

“During the last three years we have invested in build quality, customer service and development layout, said Barratt sales director Richard Lawson. “The re-design of the units represents the latest stage in this customer-centred evolution and reaction to the new homes has been tremendous.”

Barratt’s new range focused on changing lifestyles and how space is used within homes and has been launched following a series of focus groups to find out exactly what customers wanted in a home.

“Customers were clear about what they wanted: traditional looking exteriors combined with modern light interiors; bigger windows with more natural light and more flexibility in how they used the available space,” said Richard.

In response the new range includes open-plan floor layouts with the integration of the kitchen and dining areas, doubling the width of floor to ceiling French windows to maximise natural light and blur the boundary between inside and outside space and in the bathrooms there is now a higher specification and bigger showers.

A special focus has also been given on delivering more aesthetically pleasing exteriors by employing brick surrounds, porch canopies and overhanging roofs, all designed to complement the surroundings.

Energy conservation has been another area to be showcased in the new range and Barratt expects the predicted 25 per cent increase in energy efficiency compared to homes built just five years ago to be a strong benefit to buyers.

Coed Celynen benefits from a unique, peaceful ambiance and spectacular scenery – making it ideal for everyone from professional couples to families.

The development is situated on the doorstep of the stunning Ebbw River, which flows through the development. It gives residents and visitors a real glimpse of the beauty of the area in which the homes have been built.
