Three Tent Weekend - £10 - £100 & £1000 per night

12th February 2013 Print

Fleewinter has created the ultimate long weekend trip for those that love to sleep under canvas, under the stars: the Three Tent Weekend.

The trip provides the chance to enjoy three vastly different camping experiences, from a simple two man ‘scout camp’ style tent up in the High Atlas, to the ultimate in luxury at Richard Branson’s renowned Kasbah Tamadot in the mountain village of Imlil.

The itinerary commences with a private transfer from Marrakech airport, to the extraordinary Jardins d’Issil, located 25 minutes’ drive away. The complex is comprised of individual Arabian Nights-style caidal tents that are decorated with lavish rugs and brightly coloured silk cushions and complete with air conditioning.

There is a main reception building close to the large swimming pool which houses a bar and a restaurant complete with outside terrace for al fresco dining.

Although Jardin d’Issil gives the impression of being in the middle of the countryside, it is easy to arrange a taxi into Marrakech to hit the bustling souks before retreating back to peace and tranquillity.

The following morning a private transfer will take you up into the High Atlas Mountains to meet your guide and head off for a hike with the bags carried by mules. The night is spent at Toubkal base camp, sleeping in a basic two-man A-frame tent, with dinner eaten in a large communal tent.

The basic facilities of the second night are substituted on the last day with unashamed luxury at Richard Branson’s Kasbah Tamadot located in the village of Imlil, which commands spectacular views over the mountains.

Accommodation is in a large luxury suite with a private terrace and plunge pool looking out over the peaks. Kasbah Tamadot also has a spa – perfect for booking a massage for tired legs – and exquisite food is served on the terrace restaurant (spa treatments and dinner are at additional cost).

The following morning, a driver will return you back to Marrakech for the flight home – unless an extra night in a Marrakech riad is the order of the day to indulge in some last minute shopping for souvenirs in the famous souks.

The holiday costs £1110 total for two people (£555 per person) which breaks down to £100 for the first night, £10 for the second and £1000 for the final night.

It includes all private transfers, three nights’ B&B, plus lunch & dinner in the Atlas Mountains.
