A major milestone has been reached in the development of Loddon Park, Taylor Wimpey’s up-coming collection of new homes for sale in Woodley, Berkshire.

Work has started to prepare a former quarry site for development as a prestigious Taylor Wimpey collection of properties in Woodley.

Contractors acting for the leading housebuilder have started remediation work to pave the way for construction to begin at Loddon Park, a development of 468 properties for sale in Woodley at the former Sandford Farm site, located off Mohawk Way on the town’s western fringes.

The remediation work will be completed in phases to allow construction of the development in Woodley to commence as early as possible, with the first parcel of land expected to be ready for groundworks in April 2013 and the final section by the summer of 2014.

It is anticipated that construction of the first phase of new homes to buy in Woodley at Loddon Park will begin in May 2013, and will also be available to buy off-plan from May 2013. The overall scheme is expected to be completely finished in approximately 2018.

Andrew Sturla, Managing director of Taylor Wimpey West London, says: “Work starting on site marks a significant milestone in the life of Loddon Park.

“The development will not only deliver much-needed high-quality new properties to buy in Woodley, it will transform a large redundant area of land into a thriving and desirable new community, bring significant financial benefits to the local area and create a number of construction jobs for those living in the region.”

Wokingham Borough Council approved Taylor Wimpey’s detailed planning application for 468 homes at Sandford Farm in January 2012.

Loddon Park will comprise two-bedroom apartments, plus two, three and four-bedroom houses, with over a quarter of the homes to be made available as affordable housing.

Taylor Wimpey will be investing £5.2 million to expand local education provision, make road improvements and bolster community services in the area as part of the Loddon Park scheme.

An existing 25-hectare country park – roughly the size of 35 football pitches – at Loddon Park will also be substantially enhanced by the housebuilder.

Property-seekers can register their interest in the new homes at Loddon Park by visiting taylorwimpey.co.uk, where a site plan, brochure and details of the first homes can also be viewed.
