Discover the World has added to their portfolio of outstanding holiday destinations with the launch of an inspiring range of itineraries to Alaska.  Combining wilderness with comfort and taking in well-known sights as well as hidden gems, this is the most comprehensive collection of Alaskan holidays to be offered by a UK tour operator. 2013 marks the launch of Icelandair's new route to Anchorage via Reykjavik giving UK travellers more flexible travel options and great value flights.  This year also coincides with the 100th anniversary of the first ascent of Mt McKinley, North America's tallest mountain.

Alaska offers an unparalleled holiday experience for those with a sense of adventure and love of the wild.  The 49th American state is home to some of North America's highest peaks, 51 million acres of National Park, lush rainforests, a remote Arctic frontier and an incredible 100,000 glaciers.  Discover the World's carefully designed itineraries offer travellers a variety of ways to experience Alaska's sights from self-drive holidays, memorable rail journeys and wildlife encounters, to scenic cruises and fully guided escorted tours.  Their Alaska Certified Travel Specialists can also tailor-make any itinerary to suit different interests, timescales and budgets, as well as extend an Alaskan holiday to include stopovers in Iceland or journeys into the neighbouring Canadian province of British Columbia or the Yukon Territory.  A range of accommodation is available including boutique inns and lodges in the heart of the Alaskan wilderness, as well as standard hotel and motel options.
