With new homes soon to occupy the site of a Middle Iron Age village in Barton Seagrave potential purchasers are being invited to register their interest in the properties.

Redrow has outline permission to build up to 450 homes on a 54 acre site off Polwell Lane. A reserved matters application for the first phase of 122 homes has been approved and building work is now underway.

With the first properties due to be released for sale at the end of March, Redrow is urging people to sign up to find out more about the homes.

Tonia Tyler, head of sales for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), says: “Archaeologists established that people lived in this part of Barton Seagrave during the Middle Iron Age (circa 400 years BC to 100BC) .The new development of homes will feature designs from our sought-after New Heritage Collection, which combine the traditional character of ‘period’ properties along with the style and convenience of being brand new. There will be plenty to choose from; ranging from two to five-bedroom properties so whatever your housing needs there’s likely to be a home for you at Castlefields.”

Along with the new homes, Redrow has committed to investing circa £6 million in the local area. This will include a new community centre, financial contributions towards local highways improvements, provision of open space, allotments, public transport and affordable housing.

“We’re committed to providing an attractive neighbourhood in which people want to live. We’re confident the homes at Castlefields will prove popular and would encourage potential purchasers to register their interest now,” Tonia added.

“They’ll be kept informed of our progress and be given their pick of the properties when they’re released for sale. Those who buy in a development’s early stages will have a greater chance of choosing their preferred style of home and its position. Plus by buying early in the build process they will also have more likelihood of being able to personalise the interior choosing the finish of features such as the kitchen cabinets, work surfaces and bathroom tiles.”
