As a supporting partner of Red Nose Day 2013, Kia Motors has been getting into the spirit of doing ‘Something Funny for Money’ and, on Tuesday 5 March, Kia dealers from all around the UK auctioned off their ‘pimped’ Part-Ex’s at BCA’s Measham auction centre.

A total of 24 cars were ‘tweaked, tuned and pimped’ by Kia dealers and offered with a percentage of the proceeds from each car sold going to Comic Relief.   BCA’s buyer customers dug deep and thanks to some very competitive bidding on the day raised £2,245 for the charity.

Among the strong sellers at BCA Measham, a 2009 Kia Rio in white realised £4,100 and a 2004 Kia Sorento XS in silver sold for £3,775.  Top value went to a 2005 Golf Plus that sold for £4,300, while the bargain of the day was jointly shared by a 1993 Toyota Starlet and a 00W-registered Citroen Saxo, which each sold for £130.

David McCluskey, National Used Vehicle Sales and Remarketing Manager for Kia commented “We were delighted to support Comic Relief with this special fundraising event and many thanks to our dealer network who supplied all the vehicles and did a marvellous job in preparing them for sale.  Also thanks to the team at BCA Measham who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to promote the sale and help us raise a substantial amount of money for the charity.”

BCA’s UK Corporate Account Manager Phil Kelly commented “Kia and BCA worked closely together to stage this sale and we were delighted to attract such an enthusiastic and generous crowd of buyers on the day.”
