From the Sunday afternoon family cook-out to the skilled bakery owner to the budding pastry chefs putting a twist on their Nan's recipes to the most experienced chefs - pie bakers from across the globe will be coming together this April to celebrate the iconic 'pie' as part of the Great American Pie Festival.

The aptly named American Pie Council is proud to present its 12th Annual Great American Pie Festival taking place on Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28 at the town of Celebration in Kissimmee, Florida.

More than 39,000 pie lovers worldwide are expected to descend upon the picturesque town in central Florida to pay homage to the food delicacy. The increasingly popular, free admission festival returns with all the activities that have made it a family favourite for years.  These activities include the Pie Creation Station, the pie tin art activity for art lovers of all ages, the Demonstration Stage featuring entertainment and baking demonstrations with chefs from across the country and of course a pie eating contest.

However, the highlight of the festival will be the Never Ending Pie Buffet. In 2012 it featured an astounding 90,000 slices of pie as well as an array of ice creams, toppings and beverages from America's best known bakers. The Never Ending Pie Buffet has grown significantly throughout the years and is expected to be bigger than ever in 2013.

All stage entertainment and demonstrations are free and tickets to the Pie Buffet are just $10 for adults and $5 for over 65s and children under 5 to enjoy all they can eat and drink!
