The Voice UK return to BBC One screens on 30 March 2013. As the BBC’s most successful new entertainment show in over a decade, series one had an average UK audience of over nine million viewers and now it’s back – with more drama, more action, unparalleled world class talent and... a GAME.

This year, The Voice UK is launching the ‘The Voice Predictor’. The game, available from bbc.co.uk/thevoiceuk and later as a downloadable app for iOS and Android mobile devices has been engineered to suit each stage of the series. This builds on the success of the BBC’s recent Antiques Roadshow play-along game, and the BBC’s strategy to transform how people interact with BBC programmes online.

During the week, prior to each Blind Audition show, the ‘Audition Predictor’ will allow users to experience the auditions like the coaches. Each player will hear six exclusive preview clips of artists from the upcoming episode and with no idea of their appearance; they have to decide whether the artist will make it through to the next stage by either pressing their own red button, or selecting ‘skip’. Once the player has made their predictions, they can share them on Twitter and Facebook. By tuning in on Saturday nights, they can then see how well they fared and how many points they’ve scored in comparison to fellow players.

On Saturday nights, the game will then change shape, becoming a second screen experience. The ‘Team Predictor’ is a points based play-along experience designed for use alongside transmission. As each artist auditions on screen, the game players must decide which coach’s team they will join. Although they can change their mind at any time, more points will be earned for a quicker decision. During play, each player will be able to see what teams other players have been choosing and how successful they’ve been compared to others.

‘The Voice Predictor’ will be further adapted for the Battles, Knockouts and Live Stages of the series.

Given The Voice UK is an incredibly interactive format; the game will be supported by a host of online and social media initiatives. Following on from the success of last year’s digital campaign, the series will be accompanied by:
