Barratt Homes North East is gearing up for a busy Easter after reporting its strongest start to the Spring selling season since 2007.

The five-star housebuilder will have more than 30 fully-furnished showhomes open for viewing every day over the Bank Holiday weekend at developments around the region.

They include Mandale Park at Thornaby, Meadow Rise, Stockton and The Elms in Norton village.

Buyers can take advantage of a host of helpful purchase schemes, with low deposits for first-time buyers and 7-day part exchange service for those with a property to sell.

Sales Director Fenton Hewitt said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors.

“Improvements to mortgage availability and cuts to lending rates mean we have seen strong demand since the New Year and our sites are selling through very quickly.

“We have the Government-backed NewBuy 95 per cent mortgage scheme available, which means purchasers only need a five per cent deposit, whether they are first-time buyers or existing homeowners. That makes a terrific difference.

“For move-up buyers with a property to sell, we can also link NewBuy to our part exchange service. They could have a guaranteed buyer and move into their new home with just a five per cent deposit and a 95 per cent mortgage.”

He added: “The new Help to Buy scheme announced in last week’s Budget is another welcome initiative.

“It’s more great news for the housing market and provides a further boost for people who want to buy a new-build home.”

At Mandale Park, Barratt has a two-bedroom ‘Ashford’ home available through NewBuy with a five per cent deposit of just £5,425.

The semi-detached ‘Ashford’ is ideal for first-time buyers. It has an open-plan living and dining room with French windows leading to the rear garden, a contemporary kitchen, cloakroom, two double bedrooms and bathroom.

Showhomes at Mandale Park, Meadow Rise and the Elms will be open from 10.00am to 5.00pm each day over Easter. For more information, visit barratthomes.co.uk.
