Escape the cold at Amari Hua Hin

As the UK continues to shiver in freezing temperatures, why not skip the weeks of waiting for a few rays of sunshine and book a stay at Amari Hua Hin, where average temperatures are currently a warming 33 degrees Celsius.

Experience the Amari brand’s latest opening in Thailand and discover Hua Hin, rapidly becoming one of Thailand’s latest hot spots. Activities are aplenty, from roaming the area’s first vineyard by elephant to rummaging for treasures in the nearby Night Market.

Amari made its debut in Hua Hin in August 2012, taking residence just a two and a half hour drive from Bangkok, meaning after the long haul UK flight there is no internal flight in the way of beach side relaxation.

Amari Hua Hin is situated next to Khao Takiab, a popular stretch of sandy beach. The location combines glittering views of the Gulf of Thailand with the surrounding green tropical gardens.

Originally a quiet fishing village, Hua Hin was one of the first beach resorts in Thailand. Today it is a holiday destination of choice for high society members and the Thai Royal family, as well as one of the most popular golfing areas in the country with over 11 courses.

Away from busy city life, guests are encouraged to wind down whilst sharing varied culinary experiences, whether this is great value ‘street food’ from the poolside noodle cart or the yard long baguettes at Reef Deli – perfect for munching with family or friends. At the hotel’s Shoreline Beach Club, guests can manage their own personal mini grill to ensure the barbeque is exactly as their hearts desire.

Alternatively, guests can book a treatment at Amari’s Breeze Spa to guarantee total revitalisation. Therapies are based on mood analysis and focused on putting a spring in everyone’s step. Treatments start from 1,400 Thai Baht (approximately £28).

If a break from relaxation is required, share a trip to Hua Hin Hills Winery, the area’s first vineyard. An elephant tour affords the best views of the surrounding mountains, and afterwards sample traditional Thai cuisine washed down with local wine. For those wanting to pick up a piece of Thai memorabilia there are many authentic markets nearby including Cicada Market, renowned for artwork by local artists, and Hua Hin Night Market, which is bursting with traditional treasures waiting to be explored as well as offering delicious fresh seafood and street food.
