The Merlin apartments are all situated above the clubhouse and have panoramic views across the nearby beautiful hilltop countryside. The Merlin Golf and Country Club provide free golf to visitors staying at the apartments from October to May inclusive; otherwise the first game is free and all subsequent games are half price. The golf course is designed ideally for beginners and more experienced golfers wanting to enjoy a relaxed game in the fresh Cornish, coastal air.
The Merlin Golf and Country Club was established in 1994 and has been under new ownership since 2004. The new owners Jim and Rose Barlow are always up for a game of golf although it is fair to say Jim is more of the golf lover! The Merlin Golf Club has been going from strength to strength ever since due to a large amount of investment which includes the upgrading of many facilities and conversion of clubhouse.
1 Merlin is a 4 gold spacious apartment which sleeps two people. You enter into this beautifully presented apartment via an external staircase into an open plan living room and fully equipped kitchen area which includes a three seater settee, armchair, dining table and TV. The twin bedroom offers gorgeous views of the nearby countryside, has large french doors leading out onto the balcony which is perfect for those summer sunsets and also an ensuite shower room for your convenience as well as a separate bathroom.
2 and 3 Merlin are nearly identical apartments; they are both graded 4 gold and sleep four people (an extra two people for an additional cost). You enter into both these luxurious apartments from the communal landing into the open plan living room/ fully equipped kitchen area which have french doors leading out onto a large balcony. Merlin 2 has two en-suite bedrooms with views over the golf course whereas Merlin 3 has two charmingly designed bedrooms with an ensuite shower room leading off of one and a separate bathroom.
All these apartments provide parking, bed linen and towels, Wi-Fi broadband and the opportunity to dine out in the club's nearby bar and restaurant area. Cornish Horizons customers receive free use of the nearby Treglos Hotel swimming pool all year and free use of the Merlin golf course between October to May.
The Merlin apartments really offer something for everyone even if you're not a professional golfer! The more adventurous guests may want to visit the Extreme Academy at Watergate Bay which is only 3 miles away from Merlin to enjoy some invigorating water sports such as surfing, kite surfing or wave skiing! However, if water sports aren't your idea of fun then the pretty fishing village of Padstow is only eight miles away. Padstow boosts a range of delights for visitors to enjoy; you can browse through the numerous shops, indulge in a gorgeous cream in one of the charming cafes, stop for a relaxing spot of lunch in one of the many highly rated restaurants or simply watch the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the busy fishing harbour.
