Discover the mountains of Kyrgyzstan

Walks Worldwide has launched an inspiring new programme of walking holidays featuring new trips in Asia, Africa, The Middle East, Latin America and New Europe.

Comments Mark Knowles, Manager of Walks Worldwide: “We've seen incredible growth in demand for our trekking and walking trips over the last 12 months. Our clients obviously love the outdoors - but it's our choice of either, group treks, self-guided itineraries or tailor-made holidays that is driving exponential demand.

“Our team of experts is constantly looking to search out and develop new corners of the world that are off the beaten track. Among the many new trips in this year’s brochure are a trek to Khan Tengri Base Camp in Kyrgyzstan, a winter snowshoe trip in Lebanon and an unusual itinerary that combines Montenegro and Kosovo. The popular classics are also there - and usually with a special and unique twist - including Everest Base Camp, Kilimanjaro, The Inca Trail and Mount Toubkal.”

Heart of the Tien Shan – Kyrgyzstan (two weeks from £1395)

Described by Walks Worldwide’s trekking expert Mark Knowles as ‘our best ever reccy adventure’ it provides a rare chance to venture, expedition style, into the heart of the Terksey Ala-Too Mountains within the Tien Shan. The two week trip is graded as ‘demanding’ and highlights include the capital Bishek, a Seven Bulls Gorge Trek, the 7-day Tien Shan trek and Lake Issyk Kul. The trip departs in July and costs from £1450 pp which includes all land transportation, 13-nights’ accommodation (hotels & camping), most meals and a tour leader/guide. Flight-inclusive prices are available on request.

The Black Mountains – Montenegro/Kosovo (10 days from £995)

The Dinaric Alps of Montenegro are one of the newest corners of Europe now available to adventurous trekkers. This original itinerary commences with an exploration of rural Montengero, sampling home-made cheese and chai in mountain villages. Other highlights of the trip, which is graded as demanding, include Djalovica Canyon, hiking beneath Bjelasica Peak, Ali Pasha Spring, Hridsko Lake and crossing the border into Kosovo to enjoy a 2500m peak with views across both countries before heading back to Montenegro. The holiday costs from £995 pp which includes all land transportation, 9-nights’ accommodation, most meals and a tour leader/guide. Flight-inclusive prices are available on request.
