With research suggesting that English market towns are top of buyers’ lists when it comes to moving house – the popular location of Retford is living up to the reputation.

The last six remaining homes are now for sale at The Maples development in the popular Nottinghamshire town, with award-winning Linden Homes having enjoyed tremendous success at the location so far.

And with the company revealing that the majority of recent sales at The Maples have come from purchasers living within a two to five mile radius of the development – this suggests that home is certainly where the heart is for house hunters locally.

There is now even more assistance to help buyers move to one of the fantastic family homes – thanks to the popular Part Exchange scheme and the recently-introduced Help to Buy incentive.

Both are available at the development.

Under Part Exchange, Linden Homes will arrange for at least three independent valuations of your existing home and will make you an offer based on their suggestions.

Once you agree the offer, and subject to satisfactory surveys, Linden Homes becomes your buyer, freeing you up to put in reservation on your new home. You can stay in your existing home until your new one is ready.

The Government’s new Help to Buy scheme requires first time buyers or existing homeowners to have a minimum five per cent deposit. The government will lend you up to 20 per cent of the value of your property through an equity loan, which can be repaid at any time or on the sale of your home.

Regional sales manager Melanie Parker said: “With these incentives currently available, there really hasn’t been a better time to buy at The Maples.

“People living in the Retford area seem to have a real affiliation with the town, with our purchaser profile suggesting that most of our customers move from within just two to five miles of the development.

“This seems to reinforce the national suggestion that market towns are increasingly popular with people looking to move – being attracted to the quality of life, history, setting and community spirit typically associated with market towns.”

The final four-bedroom family homes at The Maples are ready to move into now. Some prices have recently been reduced by up to £5,000 and currently range from £214,950 to £249,950 to include carpets, curtains, light fittings and turf.

The sales and marketing suite is open from Thursday to Monday from 10.30am until 5pm. Alternatively, log on to lindenhomes.co.uk.
