Enjoy watching your children learn to ride a bike this half-term at Shorefield Holidays’ Oakdene Forest Park and take advantage of the 25% discounts on offer. The price of a week’s holiday for a family of four, staying in a four-berth Wimborne or Bramshaw Caravan, is down to just £393.75 - little more than £14pppn! The price is valid for arrivals on May 24, 25 or 27 and is subject to availability.

New to Oakdene’s Go Active itinerary this year, Balance Ability sessions for juniors (3 to 7 years) are priced at £4 per child per hour. Using the latest balance bikes, qualified instructors help children to build their confidence for one of the most exciting breakthroughs in childhood – next stop, Tour de France.

Situated in 55 acres of parkland bordering the Avon Forest, Oakdene is the only holiday park on the south coast to offer the Go Active itinerary – a weekly programme of thrilling activities for all ages – and there’s nowhere better than the safe environment of the park to practise cycling.

Developed in conjunction with Hoseasons, the Go Active concept operates a simple pay-as-you-go system. Prices start from £4 per session and a diverse range of activities includes den-building, archery,body-zorbing and water pedlerz. Oakdene also puts on optional entertainment such as the Kids Club with Cyril and Cybil the Squirrels for younger children, evening cabaret, quizzes and games for older kids and adults.

Facilties at Oakdene include a heated indoor pool with a 34-metre flume, toddlers’ pools, fully-equipped gym, sauna, steam room and spa, table tennis, pool, crazy golf and much more. The Colour Café and Blues Bar provide an alternative to self-catering.

In addition, the smaller seven-acre Forest Edge Holiday Park is also offering the same 25% discount on all caravans for the same period. Guests staying at Forest Edge have full access to the extensive leisure facilities at Oakdene, including the Go Active programme.

There is something for everyone to enjoy. Tear yourself away from the delights of the park, and the New Forest has any number of treats in store: walks, picnics and bike rides in beautiful natural surroundings rich in wildlife; Paultons Park, one of only a handful of theme parks to cater for small children; Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway, and Beaulieu’s internationally famous Motor Museum.

Shorefield Holidays (shorefield.co.uk), offers a wide range of accommodation options to suit all budgets and preferences, from caravans and budget chalets to luxurious lodges and bungalows with BBQ, private garden, decking and hot tub.
