Not only is award winning and niche Scottish housebuilder, Cruden Homes launching Wester Lea in Midlothian on Saturday 18 May, but it will also unveil the development’s stylish new showhome at the same time.

Situated within Newtongrange in the heart of Midlothian, Wester Lea is set to provide a choice of beautifully crafted two and three-bedroom terraced and semi-detached homes, which are certain to appeal to young family buyers from both within the village and surrounding areas.

Hazel Davies, sales and marketing manager at Cruden Homes (East), said: “It may seem ambitious to launch both the development and the showhome on the same day. However, sometimes with new developments, it can be difficult for buyers to visualise the finished product and imagine living there. By having the show property available, visitors have the opportunity to take their time and get a real feel for the layout to see if it suits their needs.”

The three-bedroom showhome has been imaginatively decorated throughout to demonstrate the thoughtful design elements, expert finish and acute attention to detail Cruden Homes has garnered a reputation for delivering time and again. Interior design and furnishings are courtesy of IKEA, offering a fabulous look that is both affordable and replicable for young families and couples starting out on the housing ladder.

Prospective purchasers will be able to inspect the fully-fitted kitchen complete with slick integrated appliances, elegant bathroom and contemporary fittings when viewing the showhome – but that’s not all. They will also have the chance to find out more about the mix of properties and tailored incentives on offer, including 95% mortgages with the Scottish Government backed Mi New Home scheme.

Newtongrange is an active community with a host of leisure and social pursuits, including this year’s centenary celebration of the village’s Gala Day. Primary education is provided at Newtongrange Primary or nearby St Luke’s in Mayfield, with secondary education at Newbattle Community High School, which is just a short stroll from Wester Lea.

Edinburgh city centre is about 20 minutes by car from Newtongrange. For those who want to let the train take the strain for their daily commute to work, there are no less than three train stations within a five mile radius or less – Musselburgh, Wallyford and Newcraighall, which has park and ride facilities. What’s more, the Waverley railway line, running from Edinburgh to Tweedbank, is currently under construction. When complete in 2015, direct access to the capital and the Borders will be available from the newly refurbished station in Newtongrange.

Prices at Wester Lea are released from a competitive £139,995.
