Since opening just a few months ago, Taylor Wimpey’s Cameron Gardens development of new homes in Bilston has really captured buyers’ attention, and now two new showhomes have been revealed to inspire buyers to make their move to this popular location that’s within easy reach of Edinburgh.

As well as gorgeous interiors, there’s been some extra TLC lavished on the front gardens of the showhomes by local TV gardening presenter Carolyn Spray from ‘Pentland Plants’ situated next door to the development. For the first time, Taylor Wimpey has aimed to link the colours and textures from the planting of the front gardens with the interiors of each of the showhomes to give buyers a sense of the style, flair and colours that will be continued inside.

New owners and prospective buyers will also have the chance to meet Carolyn at a free drop-in event on Saturday 25 May, 2013 from 10.30am-12 noon to pick up some hints and tips for their own gardens - plus there is the chance to enter a free prize draw to win a £250 gardening voucher for Pentland Plants.

Carolyn Spray adds: “I was delighted when Taylor Wimpey approached me to help with the design of their two showhome gardens in Bilston. When you’re given a blank canvas of a garden to work with it’s really exciting, and this has been a refreshing challenge where we have linked the design and style of the gardens with the beautiful interiors.

“I’m really happy with the results, and importantly I hope they’ll inspire buyers at this development to see what they can achieve with their new gardens. Plus, I’m also hosting a drop-in event for buyers and prospective buyers to visit me at Cameron Gardens on Saturday 25 May, 2013 from 10.30am-12 noon to pick up some tips and ideas of what they can achieve in their own garden.”

The clever use of a natural palette of bright whites and spring greens throughout the impressive four bedroom detached Monro provides the perfect stage for this home to shine. The lounge provides a haven of style with super soft ivory velvet sofas with an eye-catching wall-art of silver and greens. Two large mirrors and two side consoles add to the overall impact of space in this room, and large-leaf foliage plants and styling create a natural and calming feeling that’s reflected in the garden of this beautiful home.

The kitchen at the rear offers plenty of space for relaxed family dining, as well as French doors to the rear garden, plus an island discreetly separates the different areas of this room and provides great storage. The kitchen predominately features high-gloss white units with a real urban chic feel that’s softened with a contemporary addition of a row of high-gloss wooden veneer units to create a contrast that boosts the overall natural style and flow of this family home. With seating for six, the separate dining room is a stylish place to entertain guests and adds flexibility to this great family home.

The use of a natural palette of white, spring greens and floral patterns continues upstairs with each bedroom boasting its own calming style statement. The master bedroom offers a subtle mix of silver and moss green in luxurious velvets that add texture and opulence to this spacious room that also boasts an en suite, as well as two sets of fitted wardrobes.

The remaining three bedrooms offer plenty of space for the rest of the family, and bedroom two also enjoys the benefit of an en suite so it’s likely to be popular with teenagers or a great guest bedroom!

Next door the four bedroom detached Douglas boasts a striking palette of red, white and blue that is cleverly used in every room to create a bold style statement in this equally practical family home. Red, white and royal blue cushions pump up the colour in the impressive lounge that boasts a calm base of white, plus a strong influence of petals and leaves take inspiration from the garden and find their way into the styling right across this home.

From the petrol blue racing car upstairs in the children’s room, and a fun weather-inspired room that every small child will love - to pillars of blue stripes in the dining room this house offers bags of style and practical features that will make family living a breeze!

Karen Armstrong, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland adds: "We’re delighted that our showhomes at Cameron Gardens in Bilston are now officially open and buyers can see for themselves the style, quality and choice of our homes here.

“Since opening just a few months ago, we’ve been encouraged by the numbers of buyers who have felt confident enough to buy off-plan, but we know it’s great for them to now see our showhomes and be able to look forward to moving into their new home.”

The association with local TV gardening presenter Carolyn Spray offered Taylor Wimpey a unique opportunity to link the exterior and interior of the showhomes as Karen continues: “We strive to offer visitors to our developments a complete customer experience, and when buyers visit our showhomes we aim to capture what life could be like if they buy a new home from us.

“Our partnership with Carolyn Spray has allowed us to explore how we can use our gardens to influence and maximise the natural style our homes offer. We’ve tried to use similar colours and textures both inside and out, and I think the result is really stylish and seamless to create an overall positive visitor experience.”
