Get ‘Help to Buy’ with Barratt on Teesside

More than 400 people around the country are already in the process of buying homes from Barratt via the Government’s new Help to Buy scheme – including six buyers at the housebuilder’s developments on Teesside.

The initiative was launched last month and has attracted huge interest.

Help to Buy is available through Barratt at Mandale Park in Thornaby, Meadow Rise, Stockton and The Elms in Norton village.

The scheme has dramatically improved the prospect of owning a home or moving home. It offers the opportunity to buy a new-build home worth up to £600,000 with just a five per cent deposit and 75 per cent mortgage.

The Government provides a loan for the remaining 20 per cent, with no interest payable for the first five years.

Help to Buy brings the move-in price of a two bedroom ‘Ashford’ home at Mandale Park down from £102,500 to £82,000, leaving the buyer to arrange a mortgage for £77,900 and pay a deposit of £4,100.

The ‘Ashford’ is ideal for first-time buyers. This stylish semi-detached home from the housebuilder’s new Classic Range has an open-plan living and dining room, contemporary kitchen, cloakroom, two double bedrooms and bathroom.

More than 300 Barratt homes are now occupied at Mandale Park, which enjoys a convenient location with schools, shops and leisure amenities nearby, plus Thornaby’s new town centre and Teesside Retail Park. There are good bus services and the development is also within a few minutes’ drive of the A19.
